Attempting to behold the miracle long enough without falling asleep

One of the highlights of my ministry year is attending the annual Ecclesia Network National Gathering. I’m honored to serve on the board of the Ecclesia Network, a relational network of missional churches who are wanting to partner together synergistically to see a movement of contextual churches unleashed for the sake of the gospel.

This national gathering is the high watermark of the year for the network.

The great thing about the national gathering is that it’s not a big show with smoke and lights. It’s laid-back, relationally-focused (not programmatically oriented) and has the feel of an un-conference. Much thought and effort are put into the event, but it some strange, but comforting way, not all the details are worked out ahead of time and it doesn’t come across as overly-impressive. The gathering is flexibility to the schedule. Space is built in for times to connect with others. The event is capped at 200 people in order to keep the experience relational, participatory and intimate. (And, as great as the sessions are, what I enjoy just as much is going out with other pastors and good friends at night in order to offer “burnt offerings” at local establishments in the area and spend time together).

In past years speakers have included Alan Hirsch, David Fitch, Mike Breen, Eddie Gibbs, Jon Tyson and Dr. Darrell Guder. This year’s national gathering includes Dallas Willard, Todd Hunter and Bob and Mary Hopkins from the U.K. The theme this year is The Life and Work of a Missional Leader.

This three-day event will take place February 16-18, 2010 at the 4H National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and includes the conference fee, room and board and meals.

The best part about it: the cost is under $300.

This event isn’t just for those who are a part of the Ecclesia Network. It’s open to everybody – whether you’re on staff at a church or not.  Because Dallas Willard will be our speaker this year, spaces are filling up fast. So, if you and/or your team are interested in attending, I’d suggest you check out the site and register soon.

We’d love to have you participate with us but here’s the thing: we are almost full. In fact, we anticipate that it will be at full capacity within the next week or two (if not sooner). If you’d like to sign up, I recommend you do that as soon as possible before the event is full.
