I hope I would! Funny, I’ve just been ruminating on “the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
I honestly don’t know if I would or not. I love the story, and it certainly sounds great in an insanely rational way. I think i would have to be equally tortured as this guy was to forfeit a fortune.
Dan – thanks for your honest/courageous comment.
You are not alone.
The story really makes you think, doesn’t it?
It reminds me of the story of the Rich Young Ruler in Mark 10.
But this man did it voluntarily, whereas the RYR was challenged in his devotion by Jesus.

It challenges us at our core!
